Reception report from Frank Ingwersen for Monday September 17. In auto E Broad St at Drexel going west toward downtown. Reception on 102.1 FM was adequate until I-71 was approached, then significant fading of the signal made reception no good.
Similar report for Friday September 14 on 102.1 FM Traveling north west on US 33 toward Bexley at I-70 interchange then on I-70 west toward downtown: reception okay until Miller Kelton reached, then signal was weak and unacceptable. At 4th Street exit, reception was fuzzy.

In station guest Kevin Kale and call-in guest Kris Galloway were disappointed. Program host Joe Contino was disappointed.
Two listeners (neighbors) asked why they couldn't get the station Friday.
Transmission successful but controlling volume was problematical...at 11:20 a.m. and 12:25 p.m. signal was strong on Local Power 102.1 FM, okay on Bexley 98.3 but there was some static on Bexley 98.3 and the sound quality on the Rosi pre-recorded piece was not satisfactory. Content. Kriss Galloway did a report on events scheduled for Jewish Community Center. Frank Ingwersen reported on Wall Street, WCRX-LP did its auction market report and also covered a Chldrens Hospital charity fundraiser and also a charity fundraiser in Monaco. Frank Ingwersen also confirmed that he and Joe Contino are exploring the possibility that Frank will do a Friday commentary on socio-economic matters during Joe's program.
After today's program, a neighbor commented on the WCRX-LP report last week about the Homemaker Day at the Ashland County Fair.
Station manager John Manning offered the opinion on air that there was no way for the gatekeepers to tell if someone is a homemaker...which comment received the staff rejoinder that the homemakers are the women who look "happy and haggard."
Tuesday September 25, 2007. A drum solo sounded at the beginning of transmission. It had the characteristicss of sound stroed in a buffer but DE said that there was no recording of a drum the night before. Is this a question for EB? Warm generally clear day but sporadic clouds threatended rain. At 11:15 a.m. and again at 12:15 p.m. 102.1 FM Local Power Radio at the studio was very strong and clear. Volume was adjusted down to compensate for the steength. EB called about the strength also and the volume on the studio computer was adjested downward. Bexley 98.3 FM was weaker and had a distubing layer of static.
Programming was Amy Maurer on gardens, Frank Ingwersen on Wall Street, Lee Edmundsen on her convalesence and a new feature Paul Peltier with a culture report from Portsmouth New Hampshire.

102.1 FM Local Power Radio is strong and clear in Whitehall. Bexley 98.3 FM has a steady layer of static.
At 12:15 EB calls volume is too strong. Part of problem is JC preference for volume and general strong voice.
Content: prerecorded Cynthia Rosi interviews from 15th annual writers conference. Joe Contino live interview of Representative Jim McGRegor, 20th Ohio House District. Discussion of alternative energy, wildlife, education finance and innovation.
Thursday September 27, 2007. Whitehall raining. Warm. 102.1 FM Local Power Radio strong in Whitehall. Bexley 98.3 FM Almost strong but a layer of static.
Nothing noteworthy in programming exccept Amy Maurer did not mention floura or fauna other than topics in the Old Farmer's Almanac material. Frank Ingwersen's Wall Street Report had more "nature" in its content than Amy Maurer's program. but then Amy asked some good finance questions of Frank.
John Manning and Kurt Weiland discusssed the morning auction results for the Sotheby's sale of an antique golf club collection.
Tuesday October 30, 2007. weather sunny and a bit of chill. 102.1 FM signal loud and clear on North Hamilton to Clark State Road. Interference from a Country and Western station suddenly at Headley Park and continued until New Albany Reynoldsburg Road...clear to New Albany, clear west on SR 161, strong and clear through Easton to I-270 back to studio.
Translater 98.3 FM was not broadcasting.
Amy Maurer's Noon Time Gardener covered the very practical topics of what to do to the lawn until Winter, getting rid of poison ivy in the Fall. Frank Ingwerson gave a late morning update on Wall Street.
At noon programming shifted to rebroadcast of the Bexley Chamber of Commerce mayoral candidates forum. The rebroadcasts filled the hour.
WHERE IS JOE CONTINO??? I MISS HIM!! Him and his sidekick Troy are hilarious. I do find Joe crass/harsh at times. However, I have learned to appreciate it - it seems just genuine - it comes across loud and clear on the radio. I think that is just who he is!!! It is refreshingly "real".
Congratulations, Wcrx is a welcomed addition to the air.
While living in Richmond, VA I grew accustomed to WRIR and the great variety of local programming they provided.
With any luck, and a lot of hard work we can be that and more.
Laura Franks reports surprising seven percent price decline in the Bexley Consumer Price Index for the third quarter.
Entering the third quarter of calendar year 2008, Bexley retail prices declined at the rate of seven percent (7%).
In the exclusive feature produced for Bexley Public Radio, Laura Franks made the surprising report in her Tuesday broadcast on 102,1 FM.
The Bexley Consumer Price Index reports on the aggregate prices paid for a uniform basket of merchandise purchased at retail from Bexley merchants and nearby retail stores.
The Bexley CPI measures the change of prices for typical retail purchases made by Bexley residents.
The Bexley CPI can be compared to the price changes reported by the Bureau of Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor. The comparison can provide useful information for Bexley consumers about local price changes compared to price changes in other parts of the United States.
The price data reported by Laura Franks on Tuesday surprised WCRX-LP staff and management and was not what they expected based on general news reports about the economy and the forecasts of media pundits.
As reported by Franks for the third quarter, 2008, Bexley retail prices for a standard market basket of purchases showed a seven percent (7%) decline compared to the second quarter, 2008.
Franks attributed this decline to special sale prices for back-to-school supplies that are included in the market basket. One item of school supplies was discounted an amazing eighty-three percent (83%) from its second quarter price.
Some items reflected pricing increases. Notably, two beverage items in the market basket recorded small price increases.
Personal hygiene items also showed modest price increases.
These price increases were slight compared to the significant discounting for stationery and school supplies.
The result of the steep discounting is that the quarter-to-quarter change in retail prices for Bexley is a seven percent (7%) price decline for the entire market basket.
